The Farm Horse 15-26 model produced in 1916 had an unusual feature of an outboard bearing design of the rear axle. the structural steel framework gave somewhat of a home-built appearance. Farm Horse started in 1920 with an 18-30 model, a redesigned version of the earlier 15-26.
In 1916 the Farm Horse Traction Works came out with a 15-26 model. The Farm Horse tractor was sold at Hartford, South Dakota through 1919, at which time the plant was moved to Gutenberg, Iowa. Although the 1920 tractor directories list Farm Horse as being established at Gutenberg, Iowa, it appears that the operation didn’t last long. The company disappeared after 1920 as a result of the Agricultural Depression.
